ABOUT ME

I write in the genre of Science Fiction, Humor, and Literary Fiction.  My approach to writing is to read, research, then write. I think about the content and structure of a story. What do I want the audience to know? Do I want them to laugh? What are my character's secrets? How can I make my protagonist sarcastic? I am not here to change the genre; I want to add to it in my own way.

YA/Adult Science fiction is a super popular genre. It has multiple layers. I can write about; romance, comedy, and drama. It is my desire to write a good story, a story that brings out emotions in the reader.

I don't want to just write screenplays,  I would also like to do adaptations. However, I am happy that I have the ability to write screenplays, scripts, and adaptations. I am a published writer. I would be interested in writing for games, as in creating worlds. I'm talented at creating worlds.

My writing experience has been in a journalist format for newspapers, newsletters, and news magazines. I have written for and posted on online platforms such as LinkedIn, WordPress, and Blogger.

I have master's degrees: MFA in Creative Writing, MLS in Library Science, and an MLS in Liberal Studies.  I've worked in the prison system, at the Village Voice, and in public, private, and university libraries.

I have hand sanitizer, a mask, and a can of Lysol, and I'm not afraid to use them.

I love attending conferences and meeting people who share your common goals. As a librarian and writer,  I was thrilled to have met  Jamie Lee Curtis, the original scream queen, and now children's book author.

While attending the American Librarians' conference, I had the pleasure to meet Jerry Pinkney, one of the best African American Illustrator of children's books. I would love to work with Mr. Pinkney on a project.
